What is Becoming A King - retreat?

The Becoming A King (BAK) retreat is a mentoring weekend and maturation journey for men, curated and distilled over decades by Morgan Snyder and the Wild at Heart team. Through powerful video sessions, interactive story groups, and a guided rythm of engagement, reflection, and relationship, the BAK retreat immerses you and the men in your community in this transforming message.

What can I receive through a Becoming A King retreat?

Every boy knows he was made to be powerful. Yet the headlines often confirm what we know too well from our own stories, the anguished consequences of masculine power have gone away.

Masculinity needs restoration. But what is the way, and how can we find it?

The BAK retreat provides a sacred context to explore the path and process of becoming transformed men God can gladly entrust with power and the care of his Kingdom.

During this experience, you will have the opportunity to pull back 50 meters from the pressures of the front lines, explore and share your story, carefully identify and tend to your wounds, recover what makes you come alive, rekindle curiosity, joy, and hope, and strengthen your soul for the seasons ahead within a multi-generational masculine environment that connects older, wiser guides with men who thirst for pervasive transformation.

Are there any requirements to participate?

Yes. This is not a program for those who lack a desire for change or the willingness to engage in self-examination. Participants must be over 18 years of age, have completed a Wild at Heart Boot Camp within the past five years, and be willing to commit the effort required.

Including both the preparation period and the weekend itself, the total time commitment is 11 weeks. The book Becoming a King, or the Norwegian translation Å Bli Konge (available here: Å Bli Konge), is a natural and integrated part of the teaching.

In the application form, you are expected to respond honestly and be open to the fact that the selection of the 12 men who will be accepted is based on your responses and on what the BAK team discerns as God’s leading in the application process.
